How
Well Do Your Auditors Know Introducing the RBIA Concepts Test. Available at the conclusion of every RBIA seminar - both regularly scheduled public classes and in-house seminars - as a way to:
Youve told us the problem. You send your auditors to Risk Based Integrated Auditing training courses and invest the course fee, airfares, hotel and other expenses. Your concern is "how well do they know the RBIA concepts when they return?" You will soon know for certain. We are offering an optional RBIA Concepts Test at the conclusion of each of the regularly scheduled RBIA courses. The need for an examination has been suggested by the General Auditors of several RBIA audit departments. The test has been designed to provide General Auditors with a level of confidence that their attendees have attained a degree of comprehension with the subject matter, as well as an understanding of how RBIA is implemented. The RBIA Concepts Test will be in two parts. The first part will be held on Wednesday evening after the class. It will cover fundamental audit concepts, as well as the basics of the business control theory (Governance, Management and Performance control concepts) and the organizational components of RBIA. This one hour multiple choice test will be graded on Wednesday evening and returned to participants for review. The second part, the main RBIA Concepts Test, will occur on Friday afternoon. This multiple choice test will focus on all the components of RBIA including the theory, organization and methodology components, as well as key Audit Fundamentals concepts. The test results will not be based around a "Pass/Fail" level determined by The OSTERIO Group. For improved feedback to participants, and to their General Auditors, the grading will be performed as follows. Each participant will receive their test scores back the following week with the correct answers identified for each question. In addition, they will receive a rating as to how they scored with respect to the other participants in their particular class, along with the rolling averages of all classes for which the test was offered. They will also receive an indication of how they scored relative to all other auditors from their own audit department who have completed the test. The General Auditor of the department will receive a separate summary of the participants score, the average of all class scores to date and, of course, their own audit department participants average score. This will enable each General Auditor to determine what they think is an acceptable "Pass/Fail" performance for each of their auditors. They can set the bar at whatever level they choose. For
example, an auditor who has worked on RBIA self-directed work teams for
several months before attending the class could reasonably be expected
to score higher than a new recruit in the department. Similarly, recruits
from other audit organizations may be reasonably expected to score higher
on the audit fundamentals questions than non-auditors recruited as subject
matter experts. If a General Auditor wants to set a high score as the
minimum that they will accept from their auditors, we will provide the
information for them to determine that score level. Valuable, supplemental information is also contained in the "General Auditors Guide to RBIA" which can be obtained by calling (770) 536-2898 or at our shopping cart. Concepts
